SUMMARY:The Black Circle presents... Tiny Vipers\, Dephine Joussein\, Chantal Acda
DESCRIPTION:TBC#23 – Saturday\, October 17th @ The Globe \n______________________________________ \nTINY VIPERS \nTiny Vipers is the music project of American singer and multi-instrumentalist Jesy Fortino. Known for its minimalism\, her style combines elements of folk\, ambient\, and atmospheric music and is characterized by sparse instrumentation\, often using just an acoustic guitar and vocals. People and times past wander through her songs like ghosts looking for a home\, appearing and then vanishing into deft guitar playing that is reminiscent of John Fahey and Ry Cooder. \nhttps://tinyvipers.bandcamp.com \nhttps://instagram.com/tiny_vipers \nDELPHINE JOUSSEIN (CALAMITY) \nDelphine pushes the boundaries of the flute far beyond the angelic sound it is often associated with\, as demonstrated in her numerous musical projects including Nout and Flotjer. With her solo project\, CALAMITY\, she applies a mix of electronics\, vocal and mouth effects\, and percussion to create dramatic duals between madness and introspection\, organic and electric\, acoustic and amplified. Supported by solid riffs\, and all played live through her flute\, her performances showcase the expansive experimental sounds of her instrument. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/delphine.joussein \nvideos \n \nCHANTAL ACDA \nChantal Acda is a Dutch-born\, Belgium-based singer-songwriter known for her deeply emotional songs\, fragile voice\, and genre-crossing sound that moves between indie folk\, ambient\, and contemporary jazz. Over the past two decades\, she has quietly built a reputation as one of Europe’s most distinctive and collaborative musical voices. \nhttps://www.instagram.com/chantal.acda \nhttps://chantalacda.bandcamp.com\n______________________________________ \nDATE & VENUE \nSaturday\, October 17th 7.30-10.30pm \nThe Globe\, High Street West\, Glossop. \n______________________________________ \nTICKETS \n£8 early bird via Eventbrite\, until July 9th (+ applicable fees)\n£10 advance via Eventbrite (+ applicable fees)\n£12 on the door \nThere are a limited number of “pay as you feel” tickets available to anyone who is low or unwaged and wishes to join us. \n______________________________________ \nABOUT THIS EVENT \nThe bands playing at TBC #23 will be finished by 10.30pm at the latest – the last train from Glossop back to Manchester Piccadilly is at 10.52. \nWe will be accepting donations for Glossopdale Foodbank on the night of the show. The items that they particularly need at the moment are: tinned meat like chicken in white sauce or stewing steak; long life milk; tinned fruit; tinned custard; rice pudding; tinned sweetcorn; tinned vegetables; toilet paper; soap; shampoo and conditioner. \nThe event will take place in an upstairs room; unfortunately no lift access is available so stairs will need to be navigated. \n______________________________________ \nThe Black Circle x Safe Space High Peak \nOur events are\, and will always be\, safe spaces for trans people. As a collective we will actively support and advocate for the trans community. Trans people will be represented on our line ups and we hope in our audiences as well.
